What is Membership?

What Cheer, Netop?

GREETINGS!  TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME

While one may find resonance with the ideals presented in the pronouncements of Free Providence, what, exactly, is being proposed?  What does it mean, to join, what may that entail?

Our primary principle is to respect the Soul Liberty and Natural Rights of all, with special care for fellow members.  As a group, we are pledging mutual support for one another, in pursuing Life in ways we each see fit.  Yet this is up to interpretation, and depends on many things.

The single requirement for membership in this Society is that you honestly consider your life, purpose and responsibility, and from this reflection, create and share a stated expression of intent, and offer of service, and work sincerely toward it’s fulfillment.  The publishing of this statement by the Society will serve as proof of one’s Membership, and dispel confusion around the nature of our existence.  While we accept each others Soul Liberty and unfettered expression, we do not need to agree entirely upon any thing.  This collection of unique statements and intentions, and the actualization on Earth, creates the content of our Society.

Getting clear with our intent, both of community and self, we may endeavor direct action by circles of members.  Anyone who brings forward an initiative, promoting life, may gather a group to generate ideas, create proposals, and gather the energy and resources to carry out the work.

This is direct work by the people, plain and simple.  Without permanent political figures, we only empower activated working beings, learning to gather, discuss, and cooperate toward specific goals.  A framework exists, known as Sociocracy, which provides clear methods for organizing, adaptable to any membership size.  By observing and learning from one another, we hope to inspire powerful leaders, carrying initiative with the fullness of a united society behind them.

Small, committed circles will carry out workings, while connecting through delegate councils to ensure effective cooperation, when we have multiple groups working in similar areas.  The Sociocracy 3.0 model covers how to do this elegantly.  We are speaking of transferring many responsibilities back to ourselves, and our communities.  We can do it, yet this inspires and requires new ways of action that will make us highly efficient players.

To begin now, the Roger Williams Trading Post Metasofa live online chat site may be a great place for conversations to begin, questions to be posed, and circles to be created.  The address is: http://rwtradingpost.metasofa.org/  Please visit, create a login, and join the chat.

All are welcome.  There is no fee, for this is Free.  In time, robust associations may be formed within this context, to provide services like healthcare, kinds of mutual aid, and projects of community benefit.  Yet this will all be created by empowered groups, and everyone will have full liberty to join or not in these potent endeavors.  The valuable thing is that as a member of Free Providence, you weave in with a legacy of peaceful quest, truth, and all that you feel Providence to represent.  This is for us all to give form and substance.  Defining membership may be elusive at first, because it is only you, who may do so.

Gratefully yours,
